Sara says a big thank you

Sara McGreavy has thanked Catermasters for providing valuable support and sponsorship during her bid to reach London 2012.

The Leamington 100-metre hurdler missed out on Team GB place after a tear in her cruciate knee ligament interrupted her Olympic training programme. She was unable to compete in the Team GB qualifiers and was therefore forced to watch from the sidelines.

"It's been a hugely frustrating end to my qualification campaign and I'm just sorry that I didn't get the chance to see all of the hard work through," she explained. Getting to London 2012 has been a massive part of my life for the last four years and it's devastating that I won't get the chance to compete at home."

Despite her disappointment, Sara has been quick to thank Catermasters for providing the strong support that enabled her to pursue her Olympic dream.

"Without the help that Catermasters has given me, I wouldn't have been able to train full time and really focus on my goals. I'm so grateful to Nigel and the rest of the team for showing faith in me and offering such fantastic support. Catermasters is a fantastic company and it's been a pleasure to work with them and to make so many new friends.

"Although I haven't made the Team GB squad, Catermasters still helped me to win a GB cap and medals at the English Championships so that's something we can all still be proud of."

Although she won't be competing at the Olympics, Sara will still visit London to watch the 100-metre hurdle heats and will be cheering her Team GB colleagues on.

"I'll definitely be there to soak up some of the unique Olympic atmosphere," Sara said. "It's the greatest sporting event on earth and I want to still be a part of it and support it."
