A positive start at YBS

Catermasters has opened the doors on its newest contract at the Yorkshire Building Society's administration centre in Cheltenham.

We successfully overcame bids from three other caterers to scoop the subsidised three-year contract and we are now providing a first-class catering service to the 268 staff that are based in the building – many of whom are aged under 30.

Mary Blackwell, group facilities support manager at Yorkshire Building Society, said: "In the three weeks since Catermasters took over, there's a completely different atmosphere in the restaurant – it's a lot more positive and people have smiles on their faces.

"We were particularly impressed with how Catermasters listened to what we were asking for. We wanted a catering solution that is suitable for the profile of our workforce, good value and that would make our staff feel they're being looked after through the service we provide. I think we've achieved exactly that and I'm extremely pleased."

The Yorkshire Building Society site is operated by a three-strong Catermasters team comprising of a chef manager and two catering assistants. We have carried out a preliminary makeover of the restaurant and further changes are planned in 2013 to increase its appeal even further.
